I was born in Columbus, Ohio to an Indian mother and a Vietnamese father, but grew up all around the Midwest. I am currently a BFA student for printmaking and photography at The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
My subject matter is stories, fairy tales, legends, and folklore. More specifically mythology as a wealth of knowledge and history which can reveal connections between people and cultures. My art captures this through the stories I grew up on. By way of mythology and family history, I have grown an understanding of myself as a mixed race artist and how the stories we build for each other reflect our surroundings. This understanding takes form in the retelling of time honored stories and the creation of new myths to examine our modern lives.
